Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission Meeting: September 9

The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission meeting on September 9, 2014 was busy, productive and full of thoughtful conversation. The commission approved two municipal plans, one for Roxbury and the other for Barre City. Several Barre City planning commission members were in the audience and answered questions about their planning process. There was lively discussion about the Strong and Diverse Economy element of Plan Central Vermont. Commissioners addressed many issues of economic development, including the role that agriculture plays in Central Vermont’s economy, the future of manufacturing in the region and whether Plan Central Vermont should recommend that businesses pay a “living wage.” The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

The minutes from the meeting can be found here.
