Local Schools Receive Farm to School Grant

Last week, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets announced the winners of the 2015 round of Farm to School Grants. These grants allow schools to integrate food and farm education into their classrooms and to bring locally grown food into their cafeterias. The Washington South Supervisory Union, serving Northfield and Roxbury, was awarded a planning grant. With this money, the WSSU will be able to continue their work on farming and education. By late 2014, Washington County celebrated having a garden in every school. This grant will allow schools in Northfield and Roxbury to build on that success. Congratulations!
